CDL Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator

Come grow with us!We are looking for a CDL Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator - Class A preferred, Class B will be considered - to drive and operate a variety of CDL vehicles and heavy equipment. This position will safely tow multiple styles of loaded trailers to customer locations while adhering to all DOT regulations. Duties may include operating vacuum trucks, roll-off trucks and trailers, dump trucks, and tankers, as well as understanding the activities associated with each type of vehicle. Bring your CDL and safe driving record - we'll train you on our specialized equipment. This is not your typical "sit in the truck and wait" driving job - there's never a dull moment at Jammie's!Since we often work mill shutdowns and provide incident response, this position may require working various shifts, weekends, and overtime with some holiday and on-call work and may require long hours and travel at times. Travel expenses, such as hotel and a daily per-diem, are employer-paid.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInclude, but are not limited to the following:Uphold and follow all company, state and federal safety rules and protocols and customer specific guidelines, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).PPE may include but is not limited to disposable or reusable coveralls, raingear, gloves, hardhats, safety glasses or goggles, chemical-resistant clothing, face shields, hearing protection, and respirators (half and full-face).Mobilize equipment to destination and utilize the proper equipment for safe project completion.Perform required trip inspections on vehicles daily.Maintain equipment for safe operation and clean condition; perform decon and fueling when project is complete.Perform safe equipment checks, preventative maintenance, and trouble-shoot and assist with repair when requested.Complete detailed reports, manifests, work orders and time sheets legibly and accurately and submit each daily in a timely manner.Maintain e-logs according to state and federal regulations.Complete daily time sheets and job cards legibly, accurately, and timely with documentation of hours worked, job coding, equipment used, and meal and rest periods, etc.Completes all training and certifications as assigned and maintain current certifications as needed. Other duties as assigned.RequirementsMust be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the U.S. (we use E-verify)Must be able to pass drug & alcohol testing (we test for THC as a DOT employer), background checks, and be insurable by our commercial vehicle insuranceHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED) with one to three years related driving experience as a CDL driver; or equivalent combination of education and experienceValid Class A CDL (preferred) or Class B CDL (will be considered)Work at a variety of customer sites and be available to work overtime Ability and willingness to work varied hours, including but not limited to evenings and weekends, as well as some out of town travelMust have and maintain excellent driving/safety record and be insurable with our plan.A current driving abstract and proof of all certifications and licenses is required.
