Your Role at AcoustiAs an Acoustical Ceiling Mechanic, you will play a critical role in the installation of acoustical ceiling grids and tiles on commercial and government projects. Your expertise and dedication will ensure that each project is completed to the highest standard of quality and precision. ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:Read and interpret project blueprints to determine job requirementsInspect drywall partitions, mechanical mountings, and masonry surfaces for plumb and level using a laser or water levelHang or mechanically fasten support wires for acoustical ceiling grids from building structuresInstall acoustical ceiling main runners and cross runners, ensuring proper alignment and fitNail or screw molding to walls and seal joints between ceiling tiles and wallsScribe and cut edges of tiles to fit where wall molding is not specifiedMeasure and mark surfaces to layout work according to blueprints and drawingsCut tiles for fixtures and borders using keyhole saws and insert tiles into supporting frameworksOperate scaffold, aerial lifts, ladders, stilts, and other equipment as neededUse powder-actuated tools and lasers to complete installationsWork both indoors and outdoors as project requirements dictateMaintain construction schedules and phasing to ensure timely completion of projectsPerform other duties as assigned by the manager What We're Looking for in YouTo succeed in this role, you should have:4 to 5 years of commercial acoustical ceiling installation experience (required)Proficiency with materials, methods, tools, and plans/layouts/prints involved in acoustical ceiling installationTools and reliable transportation to project sitesAbility to lift up to 75 pounds and stand or walk for up to 8 hours per dayThe capability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a teamAbility to pass a drug test and background check Education RequirementsPreferred: High School Diploma Why Join Acousti?At Acousti, we offer more than just a job; we provide opportunities for growth and development in a supportive, collaborative environment.
