Your primary responsibility is to operate the screed to ensure a smooth, level, and consistent asphalt surface.You will work closely with the paving crew to meet production targets and job specifications.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate the screed on asphalt paving equipment to achieve proper width, depth, and finishControl mat quality, including smoothness, grade, and consistencyMonitor asphalt temperature and material flowAdjust screed settings to meet required grades and slopesWork with the paver operator and crew to maintain consistent productionPerform routine maintenance and minor repairs on screed and paving equipmentRead and interpret plans, specifications, and job requirementsMaintain production pace and meet job timelinesCommunicate with foreman, project managers, and crew membersSafetyFollow all jobsite safety requirementsMaintain compliance with Washington L&I / WISHA (WAC 296-155)Maintain clean and organized jobsitesQualificationsProven experience as an Asphalt Screed OperatorStrong understanding of asphalt paving techniques and materialsAbility to read and interpret plans and specificationsStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsHigh attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to work in varying weather conditionsFlexible schedule including extended hours and weekendsValid drivers license (CDL preferred)Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbsProlonged standing, bending, and kneelingAbility to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environmentPay$ 28.00 - 39.00 per hourWhat We OfferHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insurance401KPaid time offOpportunities for growth and advancementScheduleMonday to FridayWeekend availabilityExtended hours as required
