Job Description FULL TIME AND PER DIEM / DAY AND NIGHT SHIFT POSITIONS AVAILABLEThe LICENSED VOCATIONAL NURSE is a member of the patient care team responsible for providing direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The LICENSED VOCATIONAL NURSE is responsible for following the patients Plan of Care, providing treatments and work working collaboratively with the members of the team to help meet needs of our patients ensuring positive patient care outcomes.Duties include but are not limited to:Obtaining and recording accurate physical assessment data based on diagnosis and care planCommunicating patient status to the Registered NurseImplementing and documenting timely interventions appropriate to patient needs while functioning within the California Licensed Vocational Nurse Scope of PracticeDelivering consistent quality patient care, evidenced by assigned patients being clean and comfortableResponding to patient requests / call lights with appropriate actionAdministering medication and treatmentsThe successful candidate will possess the following:Valid CA Vocational Nurse License (LVN)One (1) year clinical experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in an acute and/or subacute hospital environment PREFERRED - New graduates encouraged to applyBLS requiredIV certification preferred – must be willing to obtain with six (6) months of hireExcellent customer service skillsExcellent communication (written and verbal) and organization skills requiredBasic computers skills – Empower (EHR) experience preferredCompany DescriptionPacific Hospital of the Valley: Where You Make A DifferencePacifica Hospital of the Valley is transforming health care in the San Fernando Valley and beyond.
