Job Description SummaryWhiz Kids Child Development Center is a Center based facility that is family orientated. We are looking for a School Age Lead Teacher to join our team of caring and creative care givers. Qualified candidates will possess a passion and joy for early childhood education. A successful preschool teacher will be energetic and enthusiastic. S/he won't be afraid to get wild and crazy with their kiddos.Schedule:Monday-FridaySplit shift: 6:30-9:00 A.M. 2:00-5:00 P.M.Shift time may vary for time to lesson planDutiesThe Duties of a School Age Lead Teacher include (but are not limited to):Design lesson plans that facilitate the children's social-emotional, cognitive, and physical developmentImplement age-appropriate activities and work as a team player with peers and associatesTend to children's basic needsMediate conflict between childrenModel appropriate behaviorsEncourage staff/parent communicationInsure the center's philosophies and policies are implementedAttend all staff meetings, continuing education, and center eventsMaintain state mandated staff/student ratio at all timesRequirementsAt Whiz Kids, a school age teacher must have:Clear criminal recordPrior experience working with young children, preferably within a similar settingPhysically fit and able to lift up to 30 poundsWarm, approachable dispositionExcellent problem-solving skillsPassion for early childhood developmentNice To HavesAn Associates Degree in ECE or a related fieldFirst aid certified per CT requirementsCPR certified per CT requirementsMedication certified per CT requirementsBenefitsWhiz Kids provides an environment where professional growth is encouraged and Parents, staff, and children look to each other for support, guidance, and help in order to fulfill their potential.
