Your role is pivotal in guiding applicants through the process of obtaining third-party reimbursement, ensuring they receive the care they need with empathy and clarity.Be a vital part of admitting new patients into our health services, creating a welcoming and supportive environmentEnsure accurate coding for insurance billing, contributing to the seamless operation of our servicesHandle inquiries with empathy and clarity, providing essential support to prospective applicants and patientsJoin us in this meaningful role, where your efforts will directly impact community healthcare and provide you with personal fulfillment and growth opportunities.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct eligibility assessments for clients, adhering to specific program guidelinesVerify that clients do not have other payer sources, such as Medicaid, Medicare, or third-party insuranceRegister clients into the CPCDMS and complete all necessary paperworkPerform data entry of eligible clients into our electronic systemMaintain up-to-date and orderly eligibility files for seamless access and reviewConduct renewal eligibility assessments as required by each programConfirm eligibility appointments and set initial service appointments once eligibility is determinedProvide clients with a list of required eligibility documentationParticipate actively in the Performance Improvement ProgramPromote effective working relations and collaborate as part of a dedicated teamAttend all required safety training programs and adhere to safety protocolsEnsure a safe environment by following proper procedures and reporting concernsTravel to other sites for training and coverage as neededPerform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the teamMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED, some medical knowledgeA minimum of 3-5 years of medical billing experience preferredSome training or background in ICD-A / CPT codes preferredAbility to understand and practice bookkeeping and accounting terminology requiredAbility to operate computers and other office machines requiredMust be able to take responsibility and work under pressureBilingual preferredKnowledge of medical terminology and billing practices preferredReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this positionAbout Legacy Community HealthAs the largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Southeast Texas, Legacy Community Health has been delivering comprehensive, high-quality, and affordable health care for nearly 40 years.
