Pediatric Dental Assistant
We are seeking a Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our growing, group practice. As a Pediatric Dental Assistant at Commonwealth Dentistry, you will have the opportunity to work with a staff that goes above and beyond to support each other and deliver an unsurpassed dental experience for our patients.The duties of a dental assistant are among the most comprehensive and varied in the dental office. The dental assistant performs many tasks requiring both interpersonal and technical skills.Responsibilities:Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment proceduresTaking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays)Asking about the patient's medical history and taking blood pressure and pulseServing as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipmentHelping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatmentProviding patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling)Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling)Taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth)Helping to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics and pediatric dentistry,Completes instrument cleaning & sterilization and post-op sanitization of treatment roomsPrepares dental materials and equipment as needed for the scheduled treatmentCompletes dental chartingOther duties may be assignedRequirementsExperience:Dental assisting: 1 year (Required)License/Certification:X-Ray Certification (Required)Benefits401(k)Dental insuranceEmployee discountFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountPaid time offProfessional development assistanceReferral programVision insurance
