*Locksmith Apprentice* Precision Safe & Lock is an established, family-owned locksmith and safe company serving Central Florida since 1986. We are seeking a motivated individual whose primary focus of this role is learning the locksmith trade hands-on in our Winter Haven shop, while also lending a hand wherever the business needs it most – including assisting our crew with safe deliveries and installations. No locksmith experience is required – we will train the right person. This position calls for strong mechanical aptitude, a customer service mindset, and the flexibility to move between shop work and field work, but most of all – a willingness to learn and grow. Must be able to safely lift and maneuver 50+ lbs regularly and be comfortable working with heavy safes using specialized moving equipment. At Precision Safe & Lock we provide a wide range of security solutions—access control, master key systems, safe sales and delivery, commercial doors, and more. *Schedule:* Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM to 5:00 PM, overtime infrequent but possible *Compensation:* $15–$18/hour, based on experience, skill level, and demonstrated ability. The right candidate will have opportunities to advance beyond this role as our business continues to expand. *What You'll Do* * Learn the locksmith trade in our shop, including key cutting and duplication, lock rekeying, automotive key and remote programming, safe lock troubleshooting/service, and more * Help walk-in customers and answer the phone in a busy locksmith shop, providing excellent customer service * Assist the delivery crew with loading, unloading, delivering, and installing gun safes, commercial safes, and fireproof cabinets * Keep the shop, vehicles, and inventory organized and stocked * Assist with scheduling, payments, and basic administrative tasks in a professional manner * Pitch in on other projects across the business as needed * Work collaboratively with our experienced technicians and take on greater responsibility as your skills develop *What We're Looking For* *Required:* * Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand tools * Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly * Reliable transportation for commuting daily * Professional communication skills and customer service mindset * Basic computer skills (email, point-of-sale systems, inventory software) * Ability to work well in a team environment * Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record * Ability to pass a background check *Preferred:* * Previous locksmith, security, or technical trade experience * Experience with power tools and mechanical systems * Previous heavy moving or delivery experience *Success in the First 90 Days:* * Master basic key cutting and duplication * Show steady progress in developing locksmith skills * Assist safely on deliveries and demonstrate proper use of safe-moving equipment * Build trust with customers and team members through clear communication and professionalism * Integrate smoothly with the team and shop workflow *About Us* Precision Safe & Lock is a family-owned business dedicated to providing comprehensive security solutions throughout Central Florida.
