Our culture is fast-paced, collaborative, and grounded in humility and empathy.The RoleWe are hiring a Sr. Manager, Business Development to own and grow a pipeline of strategic partnerships across our target verticals: insurance brokers and carriers, assisted living operators, and multi-family and single-family rental property managers.This is a hands-on, field-active BD role — the right person is as comfortable working a room at an insurance broker association event as they are preparing an executive-level partnership brief. You will own your own pipeline from prospecting through close, while also collaborating closely with the CEO to advance high-priority enterprise and channel partnerships.This is a role for a builder. You will shape how we identify, pursue, and structure partner relationships — and what we learn in Year 1 will define the BD function for years to come.Target Verticals:Insurance — independent P&C brokers and regional carriers who can refer to policyholders and add us to their preferred vendor networksAssisted Living — facility operators and regional management companies with ongoing maintenance needs across multiple sitesSFR — property managers and institutional single-family rental operators managing 250+ homesWhat You Will DoPipeline Ownership & Outbound Business DevelopmentOwn a pipeline of BD opportunities across strategic verticals from first contact through signed partnership or accountDrive outbound prospecting through direct outreach, LinkedIn, industry associations, referral networks, and field-based relationship developmentBuild and maintain referral relationships with insurance brokers, property managers, and other ecosystem partners who can generate recurring inbound businessRepresent at industry events, association meetings, broker dinners, and conferences relevant to our target verticalsIdentify and prioritize new target accounts, partner categories, and market opportunities that can accelerate growthMaintain disciplined CRM hygiene (HubSpot) — all contacts, activities, and deal stages logged and currentStrategic PartnershipsCollaborate with the CEO to develop, advance, and close high-priority enterprise and channel partnershipsSupport partnership processes end to end: research, outreach, meeting preparation, follow-up, and internal coordinationPrepare presentations and partnership materials tailored to prospective partners and executive audiencesHelp structure partnership opportunities that align with growth strategy, operational capabilities, and brand standardsCross-Functional Deal ExecutionWork across Operations, Product, Finance, Legal, and Marketing to evaluate opportunities and support partnership executionTranslate external partner needs into clear internal action items and ensure follow-through across teamsSupport launch planning, pilot coordination, and early relationship management for new partnershipsServe as a trusted extension of the CEO in partner meetings and communications as neededBuilding the BD FunctionHelp build repeatable BD processes, outreach templates, and partnership materials as the function maturesBring structured pipeline reporting and activity metrics to weekly BD reviews with leadershipContribute to a high-accountability culture with a high-ownership, low-ego approach to the workWhat You Will NeedExperience4–7+ years of progressive experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or enterprise sales — ideally in a growth-stage or founder-led companyStrongly preferred: prior experience in insurance (P&C, broker relationships), property management, home services, real estate, or other property-adjacent industriesDemonstrated track record of building pipeline from scratch through outbound prospecting and referral network development — not just inheriting an existing bookExperience owning deals end to end, from cold outreach through negotiation and closeComfortable representing a company independently in external meetings, events, and partner conversations without a team behind youCommercial & Relationship SkillsOutbound hunter mentality: energized by cold outreach, networking, and building relationships where none existed beforeStrong relationship development skills, with the ability to build trust across a range of stakeholders — from independent agency owners to corporate operations managersComfortable with pipeline management, partnership structures, and the business fundamentals needed to evaluate and articulate a dealStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver presentations to executive and partner audiencesProficiency in HubSpot CRM (or equivalent); comfortable with Apollo.io, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar prospecting tools; solid with Excel/Sheets and presentation toolsOperating StyleHigh-ownership mentality: proactive, resourceful, and comfortable operating with limited structure in a fast-paced environmentPragmatic and business-minded; able to balance strategic thinking with daily execution and follow-throughCollaborative and low-ego; works well across teams and with the CEO without needing a defined playbookClear communicator who thrives in an in-person, highly collaborative cultureCompensation & BenefitsThis role offers a competitive base salary plus a performance-based bonus tied to pipeline activity and partnership outcomes.
