Candidates should have at least 5 years of recent experience with contractor supervision and/or contract management. Prior experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries is also required to be considered for this role.Essential FunctionsProvide supervision, leadership, and training to others through day-to-day contact; prioritize, direct, monitor, and evaluates performance of contractorsDirect assigned employees in safe work procedures, work effectiveness, on-the-job training, construction standards, proper care and use of material and equipment, customer service, and company policy and compliance with contracts as well as state and local lawsEnforce and comply with all federal safety policies, practices and procedures; ensure that contractors know, understand, and apply all safety rules, OSHA and EPA regulations, good work practices, and proper craftsmanship techniques to their workEnsure work is performed on schedule, within competitive cost standards, and in accordance with customer expectationsControl costs by estimating labor, materials, and other costs to complete work in a safe and competitive manner; coordinate staff, material and equipment with other company and contract teams to achieve the desired outcomeImprove work processes to enhance on-the-job safety, quality of work, customer satisfaction and competitiveness for the company; encourage participation of others to develop suggestions for work efficiencyServe as Company representative to call in contractors during non-scheduled hours for emergency workMaintain accurate staff, safety, work and job cost records including activity unit costs, equipment and material use, and contractor performancePrepare, control, and administer project budgets to achieve maximum business results relating to overall performance, cost efficiency, and reliabilityPerform duties for storm work as neededSupervisory Responsibilities General Forepersons will report directly to the Supervisor.Experience Requirements At least 5 years of recent experience with contractor supervision and/or contract management Prior experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industriesEducation Requirements High School diploma or education equivalent; additional vocational or technical training preferredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesValid driver's license; CDL license beneficialAbility to travel within assigned territoryKnowledge in line clearance tree trimming standards a plusProven ability to deal with customers in a courteous and professional mannerExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)Must be results oriented, self-motivated, and able to work with limited direct supervision.Must be able to travel out of town for storm restoration work when neededPosition requires employee to be able to pass a background check and drug screen as required for this job.Work authorization requirements:Must meet I-9 requirements.Affirmative Action/EEO statement: Xylem Tree Experts and Kendall Vegetation Services provide equal employment opportunity to all individuals regardless of their race, color, creed, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by state, federal, or local law.This is a full-time position that offers health insurance benefits for medical, vision, and dental, as well as the option for enrollment in a 401K.Paid Time Off (PTO) Eligibility and accrual timelines vary by position with some roles gaining PTO immediately and others becoming eligible after a set period of employment.
