J ob SummaryThe Classroom Tech will assist in the daily classroom activities, including consistent supervision of all patients served. All the activities will vary by age group and may include diapering, feeding, assisting in toileting, and hand washing. This position will also assist the Lead Teacher or Lead Teacher/ECDS in ensuring appropriate habilitation services in areas of cognition, communication, social/emotional, motor and adaptive skills; or reinforcing skills learned and practiced in occupational, physical, and/or speech therapySummary of essential job functionAdhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the Arkids Pediatric Day Centers' Employee Handbook and Management and Medical Policies and Procedures ManualsFamiliar with requirements set forth by regulatory agencies including Arkansas Minimum Licensing, Division of Provider Services & Quality Assurance (DPSQA), Arkansas Health Department, etc.Maintain visual supervision of the patients, at all times, and ensure appropriate adult-to-child ratios are maintainedKnow how many children are in their care at all timesSpeak in a pleasant, positive, and caring voice to patients, parents, and personnelRepresent the program to parents/guardians, visitors, colleagues, and the public in a positive attitude and approachActively involved with patients to promote gross and fine motor development during periods of physical activityMaintain familiarity with health and safety guidelines, including standard precautions and daily operating proceduresEnsure a positive emotional climate for the patients by showing respect to children and adults and willingness to help othersImmediately report any information regarding health and safety concerns to the Center Nurse or other appropriate staffDisplay concern for the rights of patients and families served by the CenterEnsure that each patient's Individualized Treatment Plan is implemented and assists with development of goals/objectivesReview lesson plans with the Lead Teacher or Lead Teacher/ECDS in advanceAssist with ensuring Tally Sheets are being completed as scheduled and checked for accuracy weekly, but a minimum of monthlyAssist with ensuring each patient's Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) is implemented and develops goals/objectivesAssist with ensuring classroom billing in Aspyre is accurate and completed dailyProvide guidance and supervision of classroom planning and activitiesEnsure children are signed in/out of the classroom by the appropriate staff or by those designated on the pick-up listAssist with ensuring patients receive 1 hour of outdoor play time per day (weather permitting)Ensure at least one walkie talkie is available when on the playgroundEnsure a playground sweep is completed prior to re-entering the building from the playgroundEnsure there is a Lead adult and Caboose adult any time you are transitioning more than 2 patientsEnsure transition policies and procedures are followed, including proper head counts, and visually sweeping the area before exitingUtilize Conscious Discipline techniques with the patients servedMaintain open communication with parents/guardians, families, visitors, all Arkids Pediatric Day Centers' personnel, and outside contactsAttend and actively participate in job-related functions, parent meetings, and staff training sessionsDisplay concerns for the rights of patients and families served by the CenterCreate a clean, safe, healthy, and sanitary learning environmentPerform some housekeeping/janitorial functionsAssist other classrooms if need arisesGive lunch breaks to various classrooms as assignedParticipate in parent/guardian meetings, staff training sessions, and other job-related eventsMay help with unloading/loading vansOther duties as assignedMinimum requirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalencyCDA preferred but not requiredOne year of Early Childhood Education experience preferredClear Criminal Record Check, Arkansas Child & Adult Maltreatment Regulatory Checks, FBI Regulatory Check, including National Sex Offender RegistryPass a drug screen (upon offer, annually, and/or randomly)Abilities RequiredAbility to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisorsAbility to work with childrenAbility to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environmentAbility to carry out instructionsAbility to clean efficiently and timelyAbility to lift up to 50lbsAbility to bend, stoop, stand, walk, pull, and reach for several hours per dayAbility to demonstrate basic computer skillsMedical, Dental, Vision, Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, 401K
