Engineering Technician - Weekend Overnight Shift

Position Summary: As an Engineering Technician (internally titled: Manufacturing Technician), you’ll play a hands-on role in producing RFID inlays, tags, and embeddable products that power real-world tracking and identification solutions. You’ll set up, operate, and troubleshoot equipment, assist in training Operators, support testing, validation, and continuous improvement efforts, and help ensure our products meet quality and performance standards.In this role, you’ll develop deep technical expertise within key areas of the manufacturing process while expanding your skill set through cross-training in additional production and engineering support functions. This position offers the opportunity to strengthen your troubleshooting and analytical capabilities, contribute to process optimization, and play a direct role in achieving production targets and customer requirements.This is a full-time position assigned to Weekend Overnight Shift: 7pm – 7am, Saturday-Sunday and one additional weekday. This role may require overtime, including extended shifts or weekend work, depending on production schedules and customer demand. Advance notice will be provided whenever possible.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED, Engineering education is a plusDemonstrated engineering, manufacturing, or machining experience including set up, changeover, or troubleshootingProven experience successfully training othersAbility to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety, ESD, and cleanroom protocolsAbility to perform basic math and utilize computer programsAbility to use inspection equipment such as microscopesAbility to use small tools and measurement devicesAbility to read, understand, and communicate manufacturing documentation utilized in the manufacturing processWillingness to work overtime as neededFamiliarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office preferredEssential Job Functions:Equipment OperationOperate, set up, changeover, troubleshoot, and monitor manufacturing equipment used in RFID inlay, tag, and embeddable product productionPerform equipment set-up, changeovers, and basic adjustments for roll-to-roll and reel-to-reel processesExecute both manual and automated processing of componentsSupport RFID assembly processes, including operation, setup, changing over, troubleshooting, and monitoring of spring assembly, measuring, auto-testing, and seed preparation equipmentFollow production schedules and prioritize tasks to meet daily output goalsPerform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment and work areas to support safe and efficient operationsTroubleshootingPerform assigned preventative maintenance assignments and escalate issues as needed.Perform in-depth equipment troubleshooting, including machine settings, error codes, sensor issues, camera malfunctions, and quality concernsQuality Testing & AssuranceInspect components and finished products to ensure they meet quality and performance specificationsConduct RF and performance testing of productsPerform characterization testing of microelectronic parts using inspection tools such as microscopes and measurement devicesAccurately complete process and quality documentationPackagingPrepare finished goods for shipment, including packaging, boxing, labeling, and core cuttingAccurately complete material transactions, including labeling and ERP system inputsEnsure packaging meets quality and customer requirementsReworkPerform rework operations, including set up, processing, monitoring, and documentation of reworked materialsSafety, Collaboration & Continuous ImprovementServe as lead trainer for Operators and newly hired TechniciansFollow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, ESD controls, and cleanroom gowning requirementsCollect and report daily performance metrics, including safety, quality, and productivityLead shift changeover meetings and communicate effectively with team membersSupport continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and production outputSupport team production goals, including working overtime as neededPerform other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Strong attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentEffective communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to use microscopes, small tools, and specialized equipmentAbility to learn new processes and equipmentExperience using Microsoft Office products, with ERP system experience preferredPhysical Abilities (ex: standing, pulling, include duration):Ability to stand for long periods of timeAbility to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
