Banquet Captain
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Banquet Captain to oversee and coordinate banquet events at our venue. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a background in food service management, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. The Banquet Captain will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring food quality and safety, and maintaining high standards of service during events.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise banquet staff to ensure smooth operations during events.
Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and presentation.
Manage inventory control and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
Train and develop team members in service standards, food handling, and safety protocols.
Oversee cash handling procedures and ensure accurate POS transactions using Micros systems.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving any issues promptly.
Assist in the planning and execution of catering services for events, ensuring all details are met according to client specifications.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas before, during, and after events.
Ensure compliance with health regulations and food safety standards throughout the event process.
Collaborate with management on budgeting, staffing needs, and event logistics.
Requirements
Proven experience in a supervisory role within the food service or hospitality industry.
Strong background in fine dining or casual dining environments preferred.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and culinary practices.
Familiarity with POS systems (Micros) for efficient order processing.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on attention to detail in event execution.
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
Experience in training & development of staff members is highly desirable.
Understanding of inventory control processes within a restaurant or catering context.
Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
