Team members benefit from a technically advanced environment, a collaborative culture, and opportunities to work with innovative photonics solutions for global customers.Role Description This full-time, on-site Business Development Manager role is based in Bozeman, MT. The person in this position will identify and qualify new business opportunities, expand relationships with existing customers, and drive revenue growth in key market segments. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting and outreach, conducting customer visits and product demonstrations, preparing proposals and quotations, and negotiating commercial terms in close coordination with internal stakeholders. The role will collaborate with product management, engineering, and marketing to align technical capabilities with market needs and support the introduction of new optical and optoelectronic products. The Business Development Manager will track market trends and competitors, maintain an accurate sales pipeline and CRM data, and regularly report on performance, forecasts, and strategic initiatives to leadership.Qualifications Strong background in B2B sales or business development, ideally in photonics, optics, optoelectronics, or a related high-tech industry.Technical aptitude to understand and discuss products such as lasers, detectors, photodiodes, and fiber optic assemblies with customers and internal engineering teams.Proven ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships, including experience with prospecting, account management, and contract negotiations.Comfort working with CRM tools, sales reporting, and pipeline management to track opportunities and support data-driven decisions.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear, customer-focused language.Self-directed, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.Willingness to travel to customer sites, industry events, and company locations as needed.Experience working in an international or multi-location company and additional language skills are beneficial but not required.
