Closure Press Setup Operator

DescriptionUnder the supervision of the Shift Supervisor, the Operator’s primary function is to effectively produce and package steel buckles and seals while following all safety guidelines and company policies and procedures. Performs typical progressive die and press/multi-slide operations Responsible for set-up, change over and replacement of tooling. Observe press/multi-slide in operation and adjust control rate of production or design of the part. Monitoring equipment/tooling during production stamping to ensure it is working properly. i.e. watching gages, dials, etc. Quality inspections during production runs The use of micrometers, calipers, etc. to inspect/measure/visually inspect parts to ensure they conform to specifications Includes making minor repairs/maintenance such as oiling and cleaning up around the press when complete Communicating clearly and concisely with the Shift Supervisor, other production, personnel, and quality personnel when a problem arises Accurately complete work orders, end of the shift paperwork, and BOL’s Setting up steel coiled wire/flat stock on presses and multi-slides Maintain an accurate count of spare tooling Ensuring the area is kept clean and organized in a 5S manner. Packaging, palletizing, and banding the skids of finished product. Packaging, palletizing, and banding the skids of bulk coated product.RequirementsMust be able to lift up to 50lbs throughout the shift.Previous experience in stamp press and punch press applications is a plus.Experience in a fast-paced environment.Ability to read blueprintsExperience with tooling measurements, primarily calipers.
