Finance Intern

Job DescriptionMatrix is looking for a strong Finance Intern to add to our Finance & Accounting team. We are looking for someone who can start immediately and work 20 hours per week: As an intern, you will work with the team on the following:Perform general accounting duties including accounts payable, journal entries, and reconciliation of general ledger accountsReconciliations of bank and credit card statementsAssist with the month-end close process and financial reportingMaintain key vendor and expense summary reportsAd-hoc projects and reports as requestedQualificationWe are looking for someone who:Has completed at least beginning level accounting coursesIs responsible and self-motivated with a strong work ethicHas excellent problem solving, research and analytical skills, as well as effective communication and organizational skillsIs detail-oriented and can work independently or as part of a teamPossesses intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills (working knowledge of SQL is a plus)Can commute to our Chicago officeLocationChicago, Illinois, USAThis position is available immediately.
