Stock Yard Worker

Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and hardworking stock yard worker to assist with the organization, handling, and movement of materials in our yard and warehouse areas. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory, supporting daily operations, and ensuring materials are stored safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Key Responsibilities Load, unload, move, and organize materials and inventory in the stock yard Receive and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders Inspect materials for damage or defects Maintain accurate inventory and assist with cycle counts Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment (training provided if needed) Keep yard, storage areas, and equipment clean and organized Prepare materials for customer pickup or job site delivery Assist drivers and customers with loading and locating materials Follow all safety procedures and company policies Report inventory shortages, damage, or safety concerns to management Support warehouse and operations teams as needed Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous warehouse, yard, or material-handling experience a plus Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons Basic math and record-keeping skills Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Reliable transportation and punctual attendance Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude Skills & Competencies Attention to detail Time management Organization Safety awareness Communication skills Problem-solving ability Ability to work independently and as part of a team Work Environment Outdoor and warehouse-based work Exposure to varying weather conditions Standing, lifting, bending, and moving throughout the day Use of machinery and hand tools Job Type: Full-time Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance On-the-job training Paid sick time Paid time off People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply Work Location: In person
