The Certified Pharm Tech Specialist will lead specialized activities within the department which will include the following job functions: Chemotherapy IV Compounding, Sterile IV Preparation Oversight, Research, and much more.Essential Functions: Receiving and verifying the accuracy and authenticity of prescriptionsReviewing and recording patient information with their prescription in compliance with the guidelines of the General Pharmaceutical CouncilAssists in the education and precepting of new pharmacy technicians, pharmacy students, performance improvement activitiesProviding instructions to educate people on the correct way to take their medicineProtecting employees and patients by adhering to infection-control protocols and policiesOther duties as assignedEducation:High School Degree or GEDLicensure/Certification:ExCPT Certification provided by the National Health Career Association or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification and registration with State Board of Pharmacy (required)Valid state driver’s license (required)Experience:1 year of experience in Retail, Ambulatory, Outpatient, Hospital, Acute Care, or Home Infusion pharmacy (required)Skills & Abilities:Ability to be proactive in a rapidly changing environmentEngage with staff and patients in a professional mannerPossesses problem-solving skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skillsRequires knowledge of pharmacy terminology, medication names, and aseptic technique As a Bon Secours Mercy Health associate, you're part of a Mission that matters.
