Labor Relations Manager
The Labor Relations Manager plans, directs, and coordinates the labor relations activities for their designated business unit. In this position, the Labor Relations Manager analyzes and interprets collective bargaining agreements and advises management and union officials in development, application, and interpretation of labor relations policies and practices.Represents management in labor contract negotiations to reconcile opposing claims and recommend concessions, or proposes adoptions of new proceduresAnalyzes collective bargaining agreements to interpret intent, spirit and terms of contractCompiles information on disagreement and determines points of issue, according to knowledge of labor business and government responsibilities under lawAdvises management and union officials on development, applications, and interpretation of company labor relations policies and practicesLeads Grievance procedure including arbitrations and assists all levels of management on labor mattersArranges and schedules meetings between parties in labor disputes to investigate and resolve grievancesMonitors implementation of policies concerning wages, hours, and working conditions to ensure compliance to union labor contract termsSupervises work activities of employees involved in labor relations functions of organizationCompletes statistical reports on cases, findings and resolved issuesAbility to effectively function in a fast paced, event driven, high volume and diverse environmentParticipate in Union Labor committees and conferencesQualificationsBS Degree in Labor Relations, Business, or Industrial Engineering Policies and practices involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution, including strategic planning, resource techniques and production methodsLaws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rulesHuman behavior performance, mental processes, psychological research methods and assessment and treatment of behavioral and effective disorders
