Astranis designs, builds, and operates its satellites out of its headquarters in Northern California, USA.RolePCBA Manufacturing EngineerAs a PCBA Manufacturing Engineer, you will work across design engineering, supply-chain, quality, and our manufacturing partners to drive PCBA manufacturing with on time delivery.ResponsibilitiesDefine manufacturing readiness requirements and lead key milestone reviews to ensure all stakeholder deliverables are complete.Work with the Design Engineering team to identify and escalate manufacturing challenges early in product development by enforcing DFM, DFA and DFS principles.Drive closure of all operational issues during pre-production builds.Investigate failures in production, test, and integration. Identify and mitigate underlying root causes to prevent reoccurrence and foster continuous improvement.Deliver manufacturing processes capabilities including equipment capability, quality controls, materials characterization, and workmanship standards.Actively monitor the success of products and processes through the production ramp.Provide direction to contract manufacturing, suppliers, and engineers to manage quarantine and rework activities.RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)5+ years of experience in PCB/PCBA fabrication facility3+ years supplier quality, manufacturing, or design experienceExperience in board assembly process and equipment (e.g., stencil print, SPI, pick & place, reflow, AOI, ICT, x-ray inspection)Experience leading DFX reviews to deliver design to manufacturability, testability, quality, and reliability standardsMust be onsite 5 days a weekCertified or significantly familiar with IPC-610BonusMaster’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)7+ years of experience in PCBA/PCB supply chain, manufacturing or engineering5+ years’ experience with industry standard PLM and DFX systems, Mentor/Valor preferredExperience performing Design and Process Failure Modes and Effects AnalysesExperience with IPC standards for PCB, PCBA, and RFPC fabrication, assembly, and testExperience in polymeric applications, including conformal coating, staking and underfillWhat we offerAll our positions offer a compensation package that includes equity and robust benefits. Base pay is a single component of Astranis's total rewards package and may include equity (incentive stock options), healthcare, disability and life insurance, flexible PTO, 401(k), and free on-site meals.
