Senior Service Specialist, Building Automation
Senior Service Specialist Position Responsibilities:
Complete accurate and detailed service reports for the customer and the organization in a timely manner to allow for accurate invoicing and job cost tracking.
Provide custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, system audits and consultation, and/or database management and manipulation.
Work startup of Building Automation Systems on small service jobs.
Provide training to customers on electronic control systems operations.
Participate in the set up and configuration of PC workstations, user interfaces, data servers, IP Networking devices, protocols, routers, switches, mass storage devices and hubs. Confirm proper network performance.
Perform operational testing or troubleshooting of Sequences of Operation, Verification and Acceptance: Runs reports to analyze system operation, works with customer to demonstrate system operation and verify consistency with the Service Contract/Project scope of work.
Use well developed troubleshooting skills and respond to and resolve a variety of customer service calls with Building Automation Systems (such as Siemens Desigo CC, ABB and others), schedule service contract work, and emergency and after-hours calls on a timely basis.
Provide technical support to end users and mentor/assist junior team members when applicable.
Communicate effectively with and work with the other members of the team consistently to improve overall operations of the Service Department and company.
Work in collaboration with Account Managers to promote the sale of add-on work.
Keep customers advised of the nature of service provided, outstanding issues, and recommended system improvements, upgrades, and/or repairs.
Work with equipment vendors to coordinate communication protocols, encryption, and database requirements for integration to their systems.
Travel to BAS customer sites and some active construction sites for work daily.
Perform physical activities including lifting, carrying, climbing ladders, and climbing stairs.
Adhere to safety guidelines and requirements as established by company policies and practices.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Senior Service Specialist Qualifications:
High School Diploma required.
Associate’s degree in electronics or equivalent experience.
5 or more years of experience installing, programming, and troubleshooting building automation controls systems.
PC applications (word processing and spreadsheet programs).
Experience with Siemens, Desigo CC, ABB is a plus.
Extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or direct digital controls systems (DDC), and ability to test and write modifications to systems software in multiple languages with little oversight.
Proven experience in the integration of various industry protocols, such as BACnet, N2, Modbus, Siemens P1/P2 protocols etc.
Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
Skilled in programming, start-up, checkout, and troubleshooting complex Building Automation Systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
