DataOps Engineer

Location: Englewood Cliffs, NJ / Plano, TX (Work From Office) Experience Required: 5+ Years Employment Type: Full-Time Work Mode: On-site (WFO)About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced DataOps Engineer to join our clients data engineering team on-site in Englewood Cliffs, NJ or Plano, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience building, automating, and monitoring reliable data pipelines, and applying DevOps/CI-CD principles to data infrastructure to enable fast, high-quality, and governed data delivery across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain scalable, automated data pipelines (batch and streaming) across cloud and/or on-premises environments.Implement CI/CD pipelines for data workflows, including automated testing, deployment, and version control of data pipeline code and configurations.Monitor pipeline health, data quality, and system performance; set up alerting and observability for data workflows (logging, metrics, lineage tracking).Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and analytics teams to streamline the development-to-production lifecycle for data products.Automate data quality checks, validation rules, and reconciliation processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.Manage orchestration of data workflows using tools such as Apache Airflow, dbt, Azure Data Factory, or similar.Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for data platform components using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.Troubleshoot and resolve production data pipeline incidents; perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.Partner with security and compliance teams to ensure data governance, access controls, and regulatory requirements are met.Document data pipeline architecture, processes, and runbooks for operational support.Drive continuous improvement in deployment automation, environment provisioning, and release management for data platforms.Required Skills & Qualifications5+ years of experience in DataOps, Data Engineering, or DevOps roles with a focus on data pipeline automation and reliability.Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python or Scala.Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) applied to data engineering workflows.Experience with data orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Prefect, dbt, or similar.Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their data services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake).Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).Strong understanding of data quality frameworks, monitoring, and observability tools (e.g., Great Expectations, Monte Carlo, Datadog).Experience with version control systems (Git) and agile development practices.Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance principles.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience with big data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, or Hadoop.Exposure to machine learning pipeline operations (MLOps) concepts.Relevant certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP Data Engineer, Kubernetes, Terraform, etc.).Experience working in a regulated industry (finance, healthcare, etc.) with data compliance requirements.Prior experience in a client-facing or cross-functional consulting role.Work Location & ScheduleThis is an on-site (Work From Office) position based in Englewood Cliffs, NJ or Plano, TX.
