AP/AR SPECIALIST

Position: AP/ AR Specialist Location: Sulphur, Louisiana (Headquarters) Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented AP/AR Specialist with strong experience in Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) to manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. This role supports a multi-location operation and requires strong reconciliation skills, vendor/customer communication, and month-end support. The ideal candidate understands GP subledgers, batch controls, and how AP/AR integrates with the General Ledger. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable Full-cycle AP processing in Microsoft Dynamics GP Enter vendor invoices, match to POs, and verify coding (GL, cost centers, locations) Process weekly check runs and ACH payments Maintain vendor files and W-9 documentation Reconcile vendor statements Assist with 1099 preparation Identify and resolve posting/batch issues in GP Support audit requests and documentation Accounts Receivable Generate and post customer invoices in GP Apply customer payments (check, ACH, wire) Reconcile AR subledger to GL Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due accounts Research short pays and discrepancies Assist with credit memos and write-offs Maintain customer records and credit limits Month-End & Reporting Reconcile AP and AR subledgers to GL Assist with accrual entries Run GP reports (Aging, Trial Balance, SmartList) Support financial reporting deadlines Required Qualifications 3+ years of AP/AR experience Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (preferred) Strong understanding of: GL coding Batch processing Subledger to GL reconciliation Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple locations/entities Preferred Qualifications Experience in multi-entity or multi-location accounting Experience in maritime, construction, or asset-intensive industries Familiarity with: SmartList / SmartView Fixed Assets module Sales tax processing 1099 reporting Lease accounting basics Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off Growth opportunity within accounting department
