This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing transactional accounting processes, and supporting month-end close activities in a high volume freight environment.What You'll Do:General AccountingPrepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliationsAssist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processesMaintain accuracy of the general ledger in accordance with GAAPSupport financial statement preparation and variance analysisRevenue & Cost RecognitionApply over-time revenue recognition principles for freight movements (from dispatch through delivery)Accrue revenue for delivered but unbilled shipmentsAccrue carrier costs for loads moved but not yet invoicedEnsure proper matching of revenue and expenses by load and reporting periodReconcile operational (TMS) data to financial recordsAccounts Receivable / Payable SupportMonitor AR aging and assist with collections and discrepancy resolutionReview carrier invoices for accuracy against contracted ratesInvestigate and resolve billing and cost discrepanciesFreight & Operations AlignmentWork closely with operations and pricing teams to validate:Load-level profitabilityAccessorial chargesFuel surcharge calculationsAnalyze gross margin by lane, customer, and mode (Intermodal, FTL, LTL)Reconciliations & ReportingPerform monthly reconciliations:Bank accountsSubledgers (AR/AP)Pre-paid expensesAssist in preparing internal management reports, including:Weekly/Monthly Bank reporting (Borrowing base)Gross margin analysisRevenue per loadCost trendsSystems & Process ImprovementUtilize Sage Intacct for financial reporting and transaction processingEnsure integrity between TMS and accounting systemsIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracyAnnual Audit co-ordinationWhat We're Looking For:5+ years of experience in Financial Accounting, Reconciliation & external audit collaboration.Analytical & problem-solving mind set.Strong organization and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.High level of professionalism, discretion, and reliabilityExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI)Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detailWhy Join Us:Collaborative and supportive team environment.Best in class office space with-in the Westinghouse campus in Cranberry Township, PAOpportunity to make a visible impact across the organization.Broad exposure to the company at large and the leadership team.Stable, growth-oriented company culture.Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
