Senior Network Engineer

Title: Senior Network EngineerLocation: Hybrid(New Orleans, LA or Houston, TX)Duration: Full TimeSenior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network systems.ResponsibilitiesSupport and maintain network infrastructure within data centers, substations, power plants, and office environments.Design, implement, and support wired, wireless, and cellular network solutions.Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize network operations.Develop and maintain scripts to automate device configuration, firmware updates, and network monitoring.Develop workflows to automate manual processes, improving efficiency.Use network troubleshooting tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, and Nessus to diagnose and resolve network problems.Assist in the installation, configuration, and ongoing support of network hardware and software.Document network architecture, configurations, and procedures.Required SkillsStrong knowledge of router and switch devices.Experience with network protocols including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and WINS.Understanding of network design principles, including scalable and secure architecture.Knowledge of network security and device configuration.Experience supporting wired, wireless, and cellular network solutions, including Aruba wireless environments.Understanding of network design principles and knowledge of SDN or ACI.Hands-on experience with network management tools.Proficiency in troubleshooting tools including packet capture, Wireshark, SolarWinds, and Nessus.Ability to create scripts (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation and operational support.Familiarity with VMware virtualization.Understanding of electrical utility concepts.Experience with security standards like NERC CIP.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
