Epic Senior Analyst, Optimization *REMOTE* The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", Information Technology Department has an exciting opportunity for a full‑time Epic Senior Analyst, Optimization. The Epic Senior Analyst, Optimization initiates the implementation, builds, and modifies complex applications, and collaborates with key stakeholders, end‑users, and application team members to optimize the application’s configuration, function, and access. The incumbent supports junior staff members in day‑to‑day operations and in resolving application issues. Core Responsibilities Collaborates with key stakeholders, end‑users, and application team members to optimize the application’s configuration, function, and access. Serves as a primary support contact for application end‑users. Initiates the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the application. Initiates all phases of testing and documents workflow design. Performs the analysis of information technology in clinical work processes and validates the impacts to the workflow. Initiates the identification of issues and guides the work to resolve them. Supports junior staff members in evaluating and resolving service tickets, implementing application changes, retrieving requested data, and executing day‑to‑day operations. Collaborates with trainers on application changes and new features to develop documentation and training strategies. Works with stakeholders, the business community, and end‑users to ensure the application meets UHealth’s business/clinical needs. Participates in on‑call rotations and support and attends applicable committees. Maintains regular communication with team members, including participation in weekly project team meetings. Reviews the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership. Remains knowledgeable about UHealth’s policies, procedures, and business operations. Adheres to University and unit‑level policies and safeguards University assets. Department Specific Functions Travel to the job site during go‑lives, conferences, rounding, and/or senior leadership meetings. Workflow design and build across all clinical spaces: ambulatory, inpatient, and peri‑operative. Incorporate research and evidence‑based knowledge into workflow design. Collaborate with end users, clinical leaders, and the Chief Medical Informatics Officer in an agile fashion to enhance Epic to improve patient safety and outcomes by designing, developing, implementing, and educating on use of clinical application tools. Create a communications strategy for workflow design for nursing/clinical informatics in concert with the overall IT communication strategy. Work with vendors to proactively strategize on development and/or enhancement of clinical information system solutions to meet organizational business needs. Collaborate with clinical and executive leaders in planning, developing, and implementing program expansion and growth, including new business ventures and projects. Design, develop and modify the electronic health record to establish standards for clinical documentation and improve patient care outcomes. Develop and engage end users to support workflow optimization and changes, including Epic upgrades and ongoing enhancements. Provide critical analysis and evaluation of Epic workflow and recommend revisions of clinical systems, processes, and workflow to ensure positive patient outcomes. Collaborate with other Epic Application teams to design and develop integrated Epic workflow. CORE QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Epic Inpatient Certification; additional certifications (e.g., Ambulatory) preferred. Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary. Proficiency in computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office). Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others. Any relevant education, certifications, and/or work experience may be considered.
