Lakefront Parking Attendant

Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Seasonal Aquatics Supervisor, the Lakefront Parking Attendant is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the upper and lower parking areas at Rosewood Beach. This includes directing residents and non-residents into authorized parking spaces, traffic control, and explaining associated fees as well as customer service.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.Essential Job DutiesInclude, but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.• Check all vehicles for appropriate season pass stickers and direct patrons to the appropriate parking areas.• Advise all non-resident patrons of fee schedules associated with parking and beach access.• Assist with daily fee transactions when necessary.• Assist with issuing Parking Decals and Seasonal Memberships. Become knowledgeable with Rectrac and parking kiosk.• Assist in traffic flow of the vehicles using the Rosewood Beach facility.• Enforce all policies, procedures, and safety regulations.• Provide excellent customer service with a courteous and polite manner, including interactions with difficult patrons.• Perform other Park District-related duties as assigned.Qualifications:• Must be at least 16 years or older.• Must be available to work Memorial Day through Labor Day.• Must attend preseason training during the month of May and regular in-service training sessions.Education and Experience: Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Classification: Seasonal, non-exemptWage Range: $15.25- $17.00 per hourBenefits:• Health & Fitness Membership• Outdoor Pool Membership and Seasonal Beach Access• Program and Facility Discounts on a variety of recreational activities including Golf and Racquet Sports.Physical Demands: The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
