Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing in a manner that preserves and protects patient autonomy, dignity and rights.ResponsibilitiesCommunicates and collaborates with the professional registered nurse.Performs patient care tasks under the direction of the RN including vital signs, blood glucose testing, phlebotomy, electrode placement, venous compression devicesPerforms basic patient care services under the direction of the RN including height & actual weights, intake & output, retrieval of equipment & supplies, stocks patient roomsMaintains a conducive environment for the patient including clutter free rooms, removing linen/trash from rooms, quiet surroundingsSupports patient/family communication needs including answering call lights, orienting new patients to the room, assisting with discharge appointmentsPromotes safety including assisting with patient mobility, safety rounds/4PsPromotes comfort including providing water, ice, cups, pillows, blankets, assistance with mealsTransports non-monitored patientsAssists RN with monitored and/or intubated transportsPerforms other duties as assignedSpecificationsExperienceMinimum Required1 year recent (within past 6 months) experiencePreferred/DesiredEducationMinimum RequiredHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalentPreferred/DesiredTrainingMinimum RequiredPreferred/DesiredSpecial SkillsMinimum RequiredPreferred/DesiredLicensureMinimum RequiredCNA Program/Certification or AEMT/Paramedic Licensure/Certification or MA Program/Certification; BLS CERTIFICATION WITHIN 14 DAYS OF HIREPreferred/Desired
