Manufacturing Engineer
Role OverviewA growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive continuous improvement across production operations. This role is responsible for evaluating manufacturing requirements, leading Lean initiatives, and managing projects focused on safety, quality, productivity, scrap reduction, and new equipment implementation.The Manufacturing Engineer partners closely with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to optimize processes, support new product launches, and ensure consistent performance across all manufacturing lines.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement new manufacturing processes and technologies aligned with strategic objectivesManage updates and enhancements to existing manufacturing processes to support new product launchesReview engineering drawings and provide design‑for‑manufacturability (DFM) inputCreate cost comparisons and return‑on‑investment (ROI) analyses to support supplier and equipment selectionServe as a subject matter expert for cross‑functional projects and continuous improvement initiativesEstablish standardized manufacturing processes and documentation to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost effectivenessPartner with Quality to develop control plans, in‑process checks, and inspection requirementsProvide training and technical support to production teams on equipment operation and troubleshootingDevelop and maintain process documentation including SOPs, work instructions, process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, and control plansAnalyze process data, generate reports, and present findings related to performance and improvement initiativesSupport daily production needs to ensure KPI targets and standardized practices are met across all linesLead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) efforts and ensure corrective actions are effectively implementedCoordinate with Maintenance, Production, and Engineering teams on equipment changes and improvementsQualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical disciplineExperience & Skills5-10 years of experience in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of manufacturing and engineering practices, including Lean Manufacturing methodologiesProven experience leading Kaizen or continuous improvement initiativesAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&TProficiency with business and engineering software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SolidWorks)Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement mindsetEffective communicator with the ability to collaborate across cross‑functional teamsSelf‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently or in team settingsAbility to influence and lead teams without direct authority
