Join our dynamic finance team as an Accountant II, where you'll play a crucial role in managing our accounting and financial operations. Job Summary: The position involves managing various accounting and financial operations, including indirect tax compliance, reporting, and treasury activities. It requires collaborating with finance staff and external auditors to improve policies, procedures, and internal controls. Key responsibilities include preparing tax returns, managing audits, and ensuring tax law compliance. Essential Functions: Prepare financial reports, including cash reporting, reconciliations, analysis, and forecasting. Assist with budget development and monitoring, including forecasting revenue and expenses. Manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation of transactions. Assist with the implementation of indirect tax software and related processes. Analyze financial data and prepare reports to support management decision-making. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders as needed. Oversee indirect sales and use tax function, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of Sales & Use Tax returns and maintaining compliance activities calendar. Work directly with auditors to manage audits of indirect tax and related items. Document and maintain tax and treasury-related policies and procedures. Prepare tax returns and filings for Personal Property tax, annual reports, unclaimed property, and federal/state income tax workpapers. Provide guidance to internal teams and external customers on indirect tax matters. Partner with sales, operations, and customers on tax exemptions and other issues. Perform other related duties as assigned. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration is required. Working knowledge of Vertex or other indirect/sales tax solutions Knowledge and skills typically associated with at least 3 year of accounting experience required. Proficient with SAP or similar ERP software Proficient with Microsoft Office, query tools and database applications is required. Competencies/Skills High level of competency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, required. Strong multi-tasking skills Strong problem solving skills Excellent written and oral communications are a necessary skill set. Treasury management Inquisitive mindset and willing to dig into details and recommend and implement solutions. Work independently and in groups. Ability to summarize complex issues simply and effectively Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or computer Typing and using a computer keyboard for extended periods. Answering phone calls and communicating with customers via email. Mental Requirements: Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time paying close attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage time effectively. Environmental Requirements: Working indoors in a typical office environment Use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. Interaction with team members and possibly occasional interactions with customers in person, via phone, or email. Certification Requirement Industry certification at the CAS (Certified Advertising Specialist) Level CPA, CTP, or similar professional designation preferred.
