Java Architect

Role and Responsibilities : Works closely with Solution Architect and Director of Development to plan ongoing feature development, product maintenance, and management of development Researches, designs, and writes software to specifications, either individually or leading a team of other developers Enhances existing software by analyzing and identifying areas for optimization or refactoring Generates technical documentation as well as unit and functional tests Help in managing scope and estimation of release schedules; work with the development manager and architect to ensure that release schedules are met Assists with application maintenance by monitoring and correcting software defects Investigates new technologies and techniques and researches ongoing industry developments Mentors junior team members in industry best practices, procedures, and concepts Total of 6-9 years of relevant work experience of which last 3-6 years Should have been as Technical Lead / Architect of an enterprise software product. Very strong analytical skills, ability to comprehend complex code/algorithm, contribute to on-going improvements to the product (feature, performance) Strong Core Java, J2EE skills (Servlets, Java networking), JSF, EJB 3.0, with hands on experience in developing enterprise software applications Development and deployment experience on multiple application servers: WebSphere, Weblogic, jBoss Usage of debugging and code test tools Experience in ITIL / Network management tools. Exposure to full SDLC essential and exposure to enterprise software Product development desirable Hands on experience and ability to provide technical direction in the areas of Web Services, SOA, BPEL and associated technologies. Define and ensure adherence to design and coding standards compliant with the architecture Self-starter, detail oriented, and excellent communicator. Good problem-solving capabilities Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team leader as well as individual contributor Demonstrated experience in business application design, service-oriented architecture and implementation Network Management / ITIL projects and JAVA J2EE. Qualification : A university degree in Engineering, preferably in Computer Science
