Learn more about what it means to become a team member with LiftOne.SummaryThe successful Transportation Supervisor is the key point of contact for our branches and carrier partners in executing all freight needs. This individual is responsible for providing oversite and leadership over all LiftOne’s transportation operations and activities, as well as for daily execution of shipments and ensuring on time delivery to our customers while controlling transportation costs. This person will also serve as a liaison between carriers and LiftOne business leads and will serve as LiftOne’s Transportation Management System Superuser.Essential FunctionsProvide leadership for Transportation Planners and oversite, support, and guidance for others in the organization that are engaged in transportation planning and executionPlan, schedule and ensure the timely delivery of the company's freight using a Transportation Management System (TMS)Manage, maintain, and optimize the Transportation Management System. Provide central support in training and troubleshooting. Serve as key point of contact to interact with our vendors on issues and enhancements to the system.Partner with branch leadership and the finance team to evaluate transportation cost savings opportunities and address transportation cost and invoicing issues.Work closely with the branch personnel and carriers to ensure orders are being picked up and delivered on timeServe as the key operational contact for branches and carrier partnersRespond to requests for status updates with timely, accurate order status and carrier information; Provide proactive communication on service issuesBuild and maintain carrier relationships to support the business; negotiate carrier contract ratesDeliver transportation savings for business through load consolidation and identification of other opportunities to optimize transportation costsStrive for continuous improvement by recommending new and improved methods, standards, and proceduresOther duties as assigned, such as transportation compliance audits, KPI reporting, and project supportSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job has supervisory responsibilities.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualifying individuals to perform the essential functions.Education And/or ExperienceHigh School Diploma required, Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred5+ years previous experience working in a fast-paced transportation planning roleStrong customer service experience and communication skills.Experience working with freight carriersAbility to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectivelyAnalytical skillsComputer SkillsProficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)Experience with Transportation Management SystemsMathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and commissions.Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
