DescriptionAbout TechSource:This role is an Electrical Technician position supporting TechSource and our client, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). TechSource has a decades-long relationship with LANL and is the prime contractor supporting the Scorpius project in Los Alamos, NM.In this role, you will support the installation, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and integration of electrical systems for the Scorpius linear induction electron accelerator, which supports subcritical experiment diagnostics at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS). You will work closely with engineers and technicians to ensure electrical subsystems are built, installed, and maintained to specification, quality, and safety standards.About this role:This role is an Electrical Technician position supporting TechSource and our client, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). You will work closely with engineers and technicians to ensure electrical subsystems are built, installed, and maintained to specification, quality, and safety standards.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, wire, assemble, and test electrical systems and subsystems for accelerator components (e.g., IVA, SAC assemblies, LRU-8)Perform electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on power, control, and instrumentation systemsCoordinate and support fabrication, assembly, and electrical testing activitiesAssist with system integration, maintenance, and upgradesRead and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawingsUse lab test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, hipot testers) to verify system performanceSupport and help train technicians in electrical assembly and safe work practicesCollaborate with engineers and technical teams across multiple national labs and sitesEnsure compliance with electrical, quality, and safety standards, including disciplined operations and documentation requirementsRequirementsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience5 years of relevant electrical technician experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)Experience with electrical assembly, wiring, and troubleshootingAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentationFamiliarity with lab test equipment and basic shop toolsWorking knowledge of electrical safety practicesDesired QualificationsCompletion of the IPC-A-160 "Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies" trainingExperience with high-voltage or pulsed power systemsFamiliarity with electron beam accelerator systems or similar complex electromechanical systemsExperience working in laboratory, research, or national lab environmentsExperience with disciplined operations, configuration control, and formal work procedures
