Motor Grader Operator

Position Overview: The Motor Grader Operator is a key role within our base preparation and paving support crews. This position is responsible for operating a motor grader to fine grade and shape aggregate base and finish grade for paving operations to meet precise elevations and project specifications. The Grader Operator works closely with the Crew Foreman and serves as a leader on the job site, coordinating with other operators and laborers to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. Key Responsibilities: Operate motor grader to perform rough and fine grading on roadways, pads, and parking lots Shape and finish stone base and subgrade to proper grade and slope Work in rock and aggregate conditions, including spreading, mixing, and trimming materials Read and interpret grade stakes, site plans, and elevation requirements Coordinate with foremen, survey crews, and other operators to maintain production flow Maintain proper drainage, crown, and surface tolerances Identify and correct grading inconsistencies or surface issues Ensure finished base meets tolerances required for asphalt paving Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns Lead by example with regard to safety, professionalism, and teamwork Follow all company safety policies and job site procedures Qualifications: Prior experience operating a motor grader required Experience working with stone, aggregate, and rock base strongly preferred Ability to read grade stakes and understand elevations and slopes Strong understanding of site prep and grading for paving operations Ability to work in fast-paced, outdoor construction environments Proven communication skills and ability to work well with others Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Reliable transportation and consistent attendance Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with company drug and alcohol testing policies What We’re Looking For: A skilled operator who takes pride in precision grading and quality work A job-site leader who can take direction while guiding others A safety-minded professional who understands the risks of heavy equipment A team player who contributes to a positive crew environment Join Our Team: If you’re an experienced motor grader operator looking for steady work with a respected local contractor, ADCCO offers a strong team environment, competitive pay based on experience, and the opportunity to play a leadership role in growing operations.
