Senior Engineering Program Manager
Overview
In this role you lead the end-to-end development of Axon’s Nitro/Markham hardware line, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver a flagship consumer TASER. You will drive schedules, budgets, and risk management from concept to launch, aligning with product strategy and manufacturing partners. You will work with diverse engineering disciplines to balance trade-offs and ensure a reliable, scalable product that serves customers well. ResponsibilitiesManage 4–5 cross-functional workstreams to align with the launch timelineDrive end-to-end hardware product development on time, on budget, at cost, and with reliabilityLead program reviews with senior management and exec teamsCollaborate with Product Management to frame trade-offs and select optimal solutionsBuild relationships with Axon, suppliers, and contract manufacturersOwn program budget and schedule; guide from concept through launchCoordinate with diverse teams (electrical, mechanical, industrial design, software, firmware, manufacturing)Travel to contract manufacturers or vendors for build readiness and developmentPerform strategic process development and reporting as neededContribute as a key stakeholder in major decisions
Key requirements5+ years in hardware development program management5+ years building processes, project management, and schedulesBachelor’s degree in a technical field, business, or equivalent experienceDelivered a hardware product with software components and tracked schedules/budgetsUnderstanding of basic engineering principles and developmentAbility to communicate complex technical issues clearlyStrong conflict resolution and dependency managementExcellent oral and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skillsProblem-solving mindset and ability to thrive in fast-paced environmentsEligibility for export control license (CEW pillar)strong communicationproblem-solving mindsetability to work in fast-paced environmenthardware developmentproject management and schedulingsystems thinking across electrical/mechanical/industrial design/software/firmware
