TRIO Upward Bound Summer Student Office Assistant

TRIO Upward Bound Summer Student Office AssistantUpward Bound hosts approximately 120 UB students on campus each summer for an annual six-week academic residential summer program. Students live in a residence hall from Sunday evening to Friday afternoon, returning home every weekend. Students take courses throughout the day and participate in extracurricular activities on and off campus. The summer Office Assistant provides general office support to TRIO staff and students before, during, and after the summer program. Transferable Skills: Attention to Detail Demonstrate Dependability and Adaptability Self-starter and independent work Build strong, positive working relationships with supervisor, team members, and students Inspire, persuade, and motivate oneself and others under a shared vision Duties and Responsibilities: Provide office support Filing as requested Pick-up and deliver mail Assist supervisory staff with programming needs Assist, when appropriate, classroom staff Compete errands as requested Complete mailings as requested Revise and update forms Complete assigned tasks Maintain accurate records Create and update student folders Maintain a safe and healthy office/classroom environment Participate in extracurricular activities, when appropriate Ensure students/staff are following all St. Olaf and UB rules and guidelines Attend staff meetings and other duties as assigned Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills) Currently enrolled at St. Olaf College Ability to establish good rapport with students and UB staff Ability to be flexible and adapt to the needs of the program Sensitive to target population and committed to program objectives and goals Strong background in subject areas Excellent study habits and experience tutoring Filing and clerical abilities and/or experience Ability to use Mac computers, Word, Excel and Google Suite Ability to work independently Responsibility and attention to detail Must be consistent and able to work regularly scheduled hours Physical and Environmental Factors (Indicate frequency required in a typical shift for this position.)
