Veterinary Technician - Mobile Diagnostic Imaging
This is a traveling provider position in which, after initial training in NYC, you'd visit multiple veterinary practices across an assigned territory in Massachusetts to deliver echocardiographic imaging services.Who We AreThe Animal Cardiology Center (TACC) takes on the most advanced cardiac cases in the region. We welcome Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVTs) from general practice, emergency, or specialty backgrounds - prior cardiology experience is not required. We’ll teach you everything you need with comprehensive hands-on training and ongoing mentorship from Board-Certified Cardiologists who are deeply committed to your professional development.What You’ll DoClinical Imaging & DiagnosticsPerform echocardiograms (2D, M-mode, color and spectral Doppler) in general practice settingsPrepare, calibrate, and maintain imaging equipment in mobile environmentsTroubleshoot imaging challenges independently in the fieldCapture and present diagnostic-quality studies for cardiologist interpretationPatient Care & Clinical SupportSupport patient assessment, history collection, and documentationAssist with sedation protocols when needed (under veterinary supervision)Maintain accurate, organized medical records across multiple sitesTerritory Ownership & Relationship BuildingTravel to partner hospitals across the greater Boston area to deliver mobile imaging servicesBuild strong relationships with veterinary teams—becoming a trusted extension of their practiceSupport onboarding of new partner clinics and help expand our networkManage your workflow, scheduling, and daily logistics independentlyContinuous ImprovementContribute to imaging protocols, training materials, and workflow optimizationParticipate in ongoing case review and development with the cardiology teamWhat Makes This Role DifferentYou’ll begin in a cohort of 2-4 trainees, learning alongside peers while building deep cardiology imaging skillsAfter training, you’ll return to own and operate your defined territory in MassachusettsYou’ll create your own schedule, manage clinic relationships, and become the go-to imaging specialist for your partner hospitalsThis role combines clinical practice, field-based specialization, and relationship management into a cohesive and dynamic position.More On TrainingThis will be a 10-week full-time, paid training period. You will train on-site in New York City for 3 days per week and spend 2 days per week in remote or traveling training sessions with cardiologists and experienced imaging technicians.We’ll cover reasonable accommodations in NYC for the 2 nights you’re required to stay each week.We’ll also cover travel between your home location and NYC throughout the training period.What We RequireRVT / CVT / LVT licensureGraduation from a 2-4 year AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology programStrong interest in cardiology and diagnostic imagingComfort working independently and making decisions in the fieldHighly self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working autonomouslyPhysical & Travel RequirementsValid driver’s license and reliable vehicleWillingness to travel throughout greater Boston areaAbility to lift up to 40 lbsComfortable handling and positioning patientsAbility to stand for extended periodsSolid fine motor skills; experience with small-scale procedures is a plusWhat We Offer$75,000-$80,000 annual base salary (guaranteed minimum)Once you’re in the field, you are eligible to earn 19% of your individual production (based on imaging services performed).
