Citadel values continuous learning, clear communication, and accountability in meeting client and project objectives.Role Description This is a contract Python Developer role based in Jersey City, NJ, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows a combination of onsite and work-from-home days. The Python Developer will design, develop, and maintain back-end services and APIs to support internal and client-facing applications. Responsibilities include writing clean, testable, and efficient code, integrating with databases and external services, and troubleshooting performance or reliability issues. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine requirements, participating in code reviews, and contributing to technical documentation. The developer will also help improve development workflows, adhere to coding standards, and support deployment and release activities as needed.Qualifications Strong programming foundation with proficiency in Python and solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.Experience in Back-End Web Development, including building RESTful APIs and integrating services.Hands-on experience with Software Development best practices such as version control, testing, and continuous integration.Practical experience working with Databases (SQL or NoSQL), including schema design, queries, and optimization.Ability to analyze requirements, debug complex issues, and deliver reliable, maintainable solutions in a collaborative environment.Familiarity with common Python frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, or FastAPI) and cloud or container platforms is a plus.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid team setting.
