With offices strategically located worldwide, Global Edge is known for the highest level of delivery for our clients and contractors.Position OverviewOur team is currently looking for a Senior Estimator, Bridge and Roadway for one of our clients in the Construction Industry.This role will focus on hard bid estimating for roadway and heavy civil construction projects throughout the Houston market and beyond. We are looking for a Senior Estimator who knows heavy civil and roadway work and wants to be part of projects that truly shape Texas communities. We are looking for someone who can step in and take ownership of complex DOT and heavy civil estimates while working alongside experience operations and estimating teams on large scale infrastructure projects across the stare.Responsibilities & Essential DutiesPrepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for heavy civil and roadway projectsAnalyze plans, specifications, quantities, subcontractor pricing, and production ratesDevelop estimates for:Concrete and asphalt pavingRoad widening and reconstructionDrainage and underground utility workDirt work and earthworkHighway and bridge projectsCollaborate closely with operations, project management, and leadership teams during the bid processAttend pre-bid meetings and support overall bid strategyHelp identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options within estimatesQualifications (Education, Experience, & Skills)Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related fieldMinimum of 4 years of heavy civil/highway estimating experience involving:Concrete and asphalt pavingRoad wideningDrainage linesRoad reconstructionBridge workRoadway dirt workMinimum of 4 years of hard bid estimating experienceMinimum of 4 years of experience as an Estimator or a combination of Project Engineer and Estimating experience on heavy civil projects ranging from approximately $5M–$30MExperience estimating heavy civil concrete structures, roadways, bridge, and excavation projectsStrong experience performing quantity take-offs, material pricing, and cost analysis including calculations involving area, volume, and quantitiesMinimum of 3 years of experience using estimating and scheduling software such as Primavera, Viewpoint, HeavyBid, HeavyJob, or similar construction management platformsStrong computer skills including spreadsheet, project management, and word processing software.Experience in HCSS software.Opportunity Employer.
