Job Title: Campus Student Behavior Support Specialist Wage/Hour Status: ExemptReports to: Campus Principal Pay Grade: AP 3Dept./School: School Support & Special Services Length of Contract: 197 days Revised: 12/18/2024PurposeThe role of the campus Student Behavior Support coordinator is to facilitate effective behavioral systems relating to PBIS, Restorative Practices, and social-emotional learning by providing targeted support to students and staff.Qualifications/Required SkillsEducation/CertificationValid teaching certificateSpecial Knowledge/SkillsAbility to communicate clearly, concisely, and with knowledge regarding behavioral and SEL best practiceDemonstrated ability to maintain composure in stressful situationsPrior active involvement in campus school-wide preventative systems (e.g. PBIS)Specific training in SEL related best practices. (PBIS, TBSI, CPI, Restorative Practices, etc.)ExperienceMinimum three years teaching experience during which excellent classroom management skills were demonstratedMajor Responsibilities And DutiesInstructional and Program ManagementFacilitate implementation of school-wide behavior systems (PBIS, Restorative Practices, SEL instruction)Coordinate interventions and support for individual students at Tier 2 and Tier 3Coordinate with central office SEL division in order to evaluate, monitor, and adjust campus systemsFacilitate campus-based skill building groups for studentsCommunicate with stakeholders regularly, especially parentsStaff DevelopmentFacilitate campus-based professional learning that is differentiated to meet staff needsCoach and Train staff members struggling with the implementation of school-wide systems (e.g. classroom management, restorative practices, SEL practices and/or instruction)OtherAssist in communicating information to parent and community members about school programs.Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.Keep informed, know and understand state, district, and LEA rules, regulations, policies and procedures.Comply with state, district, and LEA rules, regulations, policies and procedures.Demonstrate ability to train, demonstrate and implement current research-based strategies in area assigned.Compile and maintain all required reports, records, and other documents as determined necessary.General Employee RequirementSupport and align work with the mission, vision, and beliefs of the district.Follow and support board policies in areas of related responsibility.Model integrity, work ethic, and professionalism as a suitable example for Lubbock Independent School District.Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental FactorsMaintain emotional control under stress.Occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
