Korean Bilingual Structural Engineer

Job Brief We are seeking a detail-oriented, knowledgeable, and professional Structural Engineer to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building and designing structures, be well-versed in structural engineering processes and standards, and be bilingual in Korean and English. Our team of expert engineers designs, analyzes, plans, and inspects various structural components for commercial buildings and large home development sites. Key Responsibilities Develop structural plans, designs, and drawings for construction personnel. Oversee the construction of structures and frames. Analyze and update ongoing projects to ensure structural safety. Adhere to local building codes, considering factors like flooding, fire safety, wind tunnels, and surface quality. Inspect and analyze existing buildings for safety and viability. Recommend closing or demolishing unsafe buildings. Plan renovations for listed buildings needing original restoration work. Comply with health and safety guidelines. Key Areas of Expertise Foundation for offset conditions Construction joint and control joint layout Raised and depressed slabs Roof elevation Foundation beams Geotechnical compliance Concrete column encasements Structural steel reinforced concrete interfaces Beam services Special structural details (beam bracing, outriggers, etc.) Site retaining walls Column grids Floor and footing elevations Elevator machine room slab and pit elevations Requirements Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related field At least 3 years of experience in a structural engineering role Proficiency in software such as SAP 2000, ETABS, MathCAD, RISA 3D, and STAAD Strong skills in drawing, designing, and creating diagrams, blueprints, and drawings Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in Korean and English Knowledge of health and safety guidelines Good report writing skills Strong manual dexterity Good problem-solving abilities Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload Benefits Medical insurance 401(k) plan Paid time off 10 days PTO + 6 public holidays. Medical insurance, SEP IRA 4%. Salary For those with over 3 years of experience, the salary is above $100,000. If you have a PE license, the starting salary is $130,000. Bonus is separate. Visa support is also available.(Visa Sponsorship) Candidates who have studied structural engineering in the U.S. and hold a Korean structural engineer certification, or those who have worked in structural design for more than 3 years in Korea, are welcome. Proficiency in English is mandatory.
