Seasonal/Intern Fish Lift Operator
EthosEnergy is seeking a few additional staff for the 2026 fish passage season at our Lawrence hydroelectric projects. The Seasonal Fishway Operator will perform duties to facilitate safe and effective upstream passage of diadromous fish. The equipment operates hourly from 8AM to 4PM Monday-Friday five days a week from mid-April to mid-July. Job ResponsibilitiesCounting and recording of different species lifted.Help various fish agencies load fish into transfer trucks.Maintain and record proper conditions for ideal passage.Help with any public tours.Maintain cleanliness of counting room and equipment.Operate equipment necessary to lift and transport fish upstream.Assist with installation and operation of upstream eel ladders.Assist with operation of video equipment related to fish passage.Required Skills / KnowledgeExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Average computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).Ability to solve practical problems and provide applicable solutions.Demonstrate a strong work ethic.Experience0-2 years of related experience.Mechanical and/or electrical skills as applied to turbines, generators, compressors, pumps, motors, valves and related equipment and systems.Education RequirementsHigh School diploma or equivalent, (Must be 18 years old operate mechanical equipment).Physical RequirementsAbility to frequently climb ladders and walkways.Duties require walking, standing for extended periods of time, crawling, stooping, sitting, climbing vertical and inclined ladders and stairs, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs.The frequent use of protective equipment may be required. Work with hazardous materials may also be required.All candidates will participate in the post-offer drug screening.What We OfferAnnual Salary Range for this position is $41,600.00 based on experience and skills set
