CONTROLLER Our client, a Rockland County family office, is seeking a sharp CPA. This is a 5 days in office role. Candidates with investment audit experience directly from public accounting are welcome. Key Responsibilities Accounting Operations & Reporting:Oversee full-cycle accounting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Prepare comprehensive financial statements (balance sheets, income statements) for individuals, trusts, LLCs, and foundations. Cash Management & Treasury:Monitor liquidity, manage bank relationships, oversee cash flow forecasting, and execute wire transfers and capital calls. Tax & Audit Coordination:Liaise with external tax advisors to provide K-1 support, manage estimated tax payments, and coordinate annual audits. Investment Accounting:Track investment performance, including private equity co-investments, real estate, and public equities, ensuring accurate recording of capital contributions and distributions. Internal Controls & Compliance:Implement and maintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity. Technology & Infrastructure:Maintain and optimize accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or specialized family office software). Required Qualifications Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. Certification:CPA (Certified Public Accountant) isREQUIRED . Experience:5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with specific experience in family offices, private equity, or HNW wealth management. Technical Skills:Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Genesis). Required Soft Skills & Competencies Ironclad Discretion:Must handle highly sensitive financial and personal information with confidentiality. Detail-Oriented:Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in complex structures. Proactive & Hands-on:A self-starter capable of managing granular bookkeeping while providing high-level strategic data.
