Luna Data Solutions has an immediate long-term contract position opening for an IT Project Manager resource with our public sector industry client located in Austin, TX. *This is a 100% onsite role.All candidates must be currently local/close to the Austin, TX area.Role IT Project ManagerRole Description:The Project Manager II is an Information Technology (IT) position that will manage components of highly complex and visible projects and/or program initiatives. This role will follow project management methodologies and governance processes to deliver work products on time and within a set budget.The role will also collaborate with the end-user and key stakeholders to provide status updates and gather requirements, with the vendor on their implementation and delivery of contract deliverables, and with the internal IT Team. The Project Manager will be responsible for maintaining and managing the timeline for multiple projects. Further, this individual will work to identify project risks and issues and proactively manage a plan to mitigate the risks and resolve the issues.Key Activities/Responsibilities:Responsible for project scope delivery adhering to and optimizing schedule, costs, and resources. Projects include TxDOT, partners, and third-party deliverables.Acts as the counterpart for vendors program leader to ensure customer satisfaction and be the escalation point for service delivery activities.Required Qualifications:Minimum of 7 years of experience with general IT SDLC processes.Minimum of 7 years of experience in identifying and managing project risks and issues.Minimum of 7 years of experience creating and presenting executive level project communications.Minimum of 7 years of experience gathering requirements from business divisions.Minimum of 7 years of experience educating business unit staff on standardized processes.Minimum of 7 years of experience demonstrating strong verbal and written skills in communicating with peers and different levels of users including executive staff.Minimum of 7 years of experience facilitating large group meetings with internal and external resources.Minimum of 7 years of experience collaborating with the technical and functional teams to develop the Technical Specification and other documents need in support of the solution.Minimum of 7 years of experience in managing all phases of large and complex technical projects.Minimum of 7 years of experience in creating and maintaining various project artifacts including; Project Timeline, Risk & Issue Log, Communication Plan, Stakeholder Register, etc.Minimum of 5 years of experience implementing Enterprise Systems Integration.Experience with SAP.Experience with mediating business units that may have conflicting requirements.Experience driving systems integration delivery projects from 3rd party vendors to delivery acceptance and project closure.Experience with preparing and presenting executive level project communications, project tracking and stakeholder management.Ability to create and maintain several project artifacts including Project Timeline, Risk & Issue Log, Communication Plan, Stakeholder Register etc.Ability to identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues.Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.Must be a creative thinker to solve issues.Must be hands-on-project manager for multiple projects.Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience leveraging AI-enabled tools and automation to improve project planning, scheduling, reporting, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and delivery outcomes.Ability to effectively integrate AI-assisted capabilities into project management practices while ensuring appropriate governance, security, quality, and human oversight.Experience with one or more of the state of Texas government agenciesCBAP and/or PMP certification is a plusWhat We Offer: Great work life balanceCompetitive compensation and benefits including health, dental, vision, life and accident insurance, disability insurance and more!Luna Data Solutions, Inc.
