An established general contractor is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join the delivery team on a major $800M data center project in Texas.This is a large-scale mission critical project requiring a Commissioning Manager who can take ownership of commissioning activities across complex electrical and mechanical systems, working closely with project leadership, MEP teams, trade partners, commissioning agents and the client through start-up, testing and final turnover.The role will have significant responsibility across the commissioning programme, ensuring systems are installed, tested and successfully transitioned through the L0-L5 commissioning process.ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate commissioning activities across the project from construction through start-up, testing and final turnoverDevelop and maintain commissioning plans, schedules, checklists and testing documentationCoordinate commissioning requirements across mechanical, electrical, controls, fire protection and life safety systemsLead field commissioning activities, inspections and functional performance testingPlan and oversee system testing including NETA, SCADA, controls and integrated systems testingWork closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, MEP teams, trade partners and commissioning agents to ensure commissioning milestones are achievedReview scopes of work, drawings, specifications and technical documentation to ensure commissioning requirements are incorporated into constructionIdentify commissioning issues and drive them through resolution without impacting critical project milestonesTrack commissioning progress against the overall construction schedule and identify potential risks or delaysCoordinate the transition between construction completion, start-up, commissioning and client turnoverLead commissioning meetings and provide clear reporting on progress, constraints and outstanding issuesEnsure QA/QC documentation and construction deliverables align with commissioning requirementsSupport development of technical documentation, field reports, issue logs, lessons learned and final commissioning reportsProvide technical guidance to project teams and trade partners throughout testing and commissioningMaintain strong relationships with the client, design team, commissioning authority and project stakeholdersQualifications6+ years of construction management, MEP or commissioning experiencePrevious experience delivering large-scale data center or mission critical projects strongly preferredStrong understanding of the L0-L5 commissioning processExperience with electrical and mechanical start-up, testing and commissioningKnowledge of NETA testing, SCADA, controls and integrated systems testingStrong understanding of the relationship between design, construction, QA/QC, start-up, commissioning and turnoverAbility to interpret construction drawings, specifications, commissioning documentation and technical requirementsExperience coordinating multiple MEP trades on complex construction projectsStrong understanding of mission critical electrical and mechanical infrastructureAbility to evaluate commissioning risk, schedule impacts and project constraintsStrong leadership, communication and problem-solving skillsComfortable working directly with project executives, field leadership, trade partners, commissioning agents and clientsDegree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline preferred; significant relevant field experience will also be considered
