Senior Accountant
Western Protective Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to support and directly contribute to the company’s accounting and finance operations. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, assisting with process improvements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.The ideal candidate brings strong accounting expertise, a proactive mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As technology and automation continue to evolve within the finance function, AI fluency and the ability to leverage emerging tools to improve efficiency, reporting accuracy, analysis, and process scalability will be highly valuable in this role. This individual will partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership teams to support scalable financial processes that enable company growth.Key ResponsibilitiesReconcile general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in coordination with the Controller and CFO.Manage intercompany balancing and support multi-entity accounting activities.Prepare, file, and remit sales tax filings across multiple jurisdictions.Support treasury and banking activities, including credit card reconciliations and cash management functions.Partner with leadership to improve accounting processes and help drive a faster, more efficient month-end close.Support annual audit activities and maintain compliance with GAAP principles and internal controls.Provide backup support for accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, collections, and customer communications, while supporting cross-functional accounting projects and continuous improvement initiatives.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.MBA, CPA, or CMA designation preferred, but not required.Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.Strong understanding of GAAP principles and internal controls.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.Experience working with a comprehensive ERP system.AI fluency and relevant experience strongly preferredManufacturing, cost accounting, or public accounting experience preferred.
