Job SummaryF3EA is seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician to support the development, integration, testing, and sustainment of Blue Water Instrumentation (BWI) capabilities at the Point Mugu Sea Range.This role directly contributes to closing critical gaps in Over-the-Horizon maritime instrumentation, telemetry relay systems, command-and-control experimentation, and range safety support.The technician will operate in a hands-on R&D and test environment, supporting electrical system builds, wiring, integration, and troubleshooting across laboratory and field environments. This position is designed for a technically proficient individual who can take electrical designs and turn them into functioning, field-ready systems.This position is focused on hands-on electrical integration and execution in an R&D environment, where speed, precision, and technical competence directly impact mission success. The role bridges engineering design and operational capability-ensuring electrical systems are built, integrated, and perform reliably in real-world test conditions.Roles and ResponsibilitiesBuild, wire, and integrate electrical and electronic systems supporting BWI prototype developmentPerform cable fabrication, harnessing, and connectorization for power, signal, RF, and data systemsSupport integration of power distribution systems, embedded electronics, sensors, and telemetry componentsAssist engineers with electrical system assembly, integration, and iterative modificationsConduct bench testing, validation, and system checkout using standard electrical test equipmentTroubleshoot electrical faults, signal issues, and system integration problems in both lab and field environmentsSupport installation and integration of electrical systems on testbeds, platforms, and range infrastructureAssist with developmental network and communications setups for test environmentsExecute preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration of electrical and electronic equipmentSupport test event execution, including setup, monitoring, and teardown of instrumentation systemsMaintain configuration control of electrical components, wiring diagrams, and system baselinesDocument wiring, modifications, and test results to support engineering and program requirementsEnsure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and range proceduresSupervisory ResponsibilitiesNoneRequired Qualifications and EducationBachelor's degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in:Electrical Engineering TechnologyElectronics TechnologyMechatronics or related field10 years' hands-on experience with electrical assembly, wiring, and system integrationAbility to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawingsExperience with test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies)Familiarity with low-voltage and medium-voltage systems, signal integrity, and grounding conceptsAbility to troubleshoot electrical and electronic systemsComfortable working in lab and field environments, including maritime conditionsStrong attention to detail and ability to operate in a fast-paced, iterative development environmentU.S. citizenship requiredAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (Secret or higher)Preferred Qualifications and EducationExperience supporting DoD test ranges, RDT&E programs, or instrumentation effortsBackground in RF systems, telemetry, or communications systemsExperience with data acquisition systems, sensors, and signal processing hardwareFamiliarity with networking, IP-based systems, or field communications infrastructureExperience with ruggedized electrical systems for maritime or expeditionary environmentsKnowledge of embedded systems or microcontroller-based platformsExperience supporting test and evaluation (T&E) eventsPrior military or defense contractor experienceWork authorization/security clearance requirementsAbility to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.Physical Demands/Work EnvironmentCombination of laboratory, workshop, and outdoor maritime test environmentsHands-on work with electrical systems, instrumentation, and fielded equipmentOccasional travel may be required in support of test eventsAffirmative Action/EEO statementF3EA, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
