Network Engineer
Valiant Solutions is seeking a Top Secret cleared Senior Network Engineer to join our rapidly growing and innovative team on an effort supporting our Federal Government Client in Huntsville, AL. Candidates in the Quantico, VA area may also be considered.The ideal candidate will provide technical engineering support for our large federal government agency's highly complex network infrastructure environment, including multiple enclaves comprising various classification levels. Network engineering support includes all engineering activities required to support the standard information technology lifecycle. The ideal candidate will provide design and engineering activities in support of new network solutions for a multi-enclave enterprise network environment which encompasses various technology. If you are interested in learning more about Valiant and this opportunity, we invite you to apply now!This position is 100% onsite (there may be an opportunity for limited telework after onboarding and training).Requirements:Active Top Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain SCIThere is a CI polygraph test that is administered by the customer once on-siteBachelor''s degree in a relevant field, andMinimum of six (6) years of experience designing, developing, and implementing network solutions (e.g. BA/BS +6 years)Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting complex Local Area Networking (LAN) issues and resolving Wide Area Networking (WAN) problems and supporting of cost-effective, high-performance IP and LAN/WAN solutions.Extensive experience with Cisco routing platforms, such as Aggregation Services Routers (ASRs)Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of routing protocols and technologies, including BGP, EIGRP, DMVPN, GREDemonstrated in-depth knowledge of Layer 2 technologies, including STP, MST, VLANSExperience providing Tier 3 support and issue resolutionExperience with network design and traffic engineeringExperience providing senior-level engineering supportExperience with TACLANE systemsPreferred Additional Skills and QualificationsExperience with Cisco Catalyst Center (DNAC)Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higherExperience with SDWAN implementation and operationsExperience in network engineering within the federal intelligence communityAbility to adhere to a disciplined troubleshooting methodology, and ensure task/mission completion, along with creating and maintaining necessary informationHighly self-motivated and directed, with attention to detailResponsibilities:Gather user network requirements utilizing multiple methodologies to provide necessary technical documentation, system requirements documents, systems security requirements documents, and system test plan.Install, maintain and evaluate network systems and communications systems.Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues involving various protocols, topologies, networking hardware, etc.Conduct network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies.Utilize extensive knowledge of internetworking, computer systems, routers, switches, firewalls, and peripherals to enhance understanding of current network designs and to collaborate with other team members to develop new network designs.Apply technical and business experience and understanding to improve processes and procedures for deploying and maintaining network infrastructure.Work independently and collectively to help improve network solutions and contribute to network service improvements.
