Senior Data Engineer - Palantir Foundry (Ontology & Data Modeling)OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a crossfunctional team building advanced optimization software for a large-scale carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) system currently under development along the U.S. Gulf Coast. This role focuses heavily on data modeling, ontology design, and platform implementation using Palantir Foundry to support investment and operational decision-making.What You Will DoContribute to the development of optimization tools supporting a scalable, worldclass carbon capture systemDesign and implement the data layer of a complex application on the Palantir Foundry platform, including rearchitecting existing solutions built in other technologiesConvert existing data models into a Palantir Ontology representationProvide expert guidance on Foundry capabilities and best practices to other team membersRecommend improvements to data models to enhance performance, scalability, extensibility, and flexibilityConfigure reliable, highperformance data ingestion and export pipelines between the Ontology and external data sourcesImplement data validations, transformations, and business logic using Foundry platform toolsDevelop interface code and examples to enable other applications and teams to easily consume Ontology dataCollaborate with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders in an Agile environmentRequired Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent handson software engineering experienceMultiple years of experience building dataintensive applications and/or working as a data engineerStrong, demonstrated experience building applications in Palantir Foundry, with an emphasis on:Data modelingOntology designOntology ManagerProficiency in Python for data processing and transformationStrong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to quickly understand complex systems and data architecturesAbility to adapt to changing priorities and deliver highquality work on scheduleStrong communication and collaboration skills; experience working in Agile or Scrum teams Preferred Qualifications Experience with additional Palantir Foundry tools such as Workshop, Quiver, or similar modulesBackground in optimization, analytics, or decisionsupport systemsExperience supporting largescale industrial, infrastructure, or energyrelated data platforms (not required)Top Skills / TechnologiesData Engineering - building complex, datadriven applications using data science conceptsPalantir Foundry - deep expertise in data modeling and Ontology ManagerPython Programming EEO Employer Apex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
