In this role, you will evaluate clinical information, determine medical necessity, and collaborate closely with external providers to ensure timely and accurate case determinations. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform timely, compliant medical necessity reviews for inpatient servicesEnsure determinations follow CMS regulations, national guidelines, and internal standardsCommunicate clinical decisions clearly both verbally and in written formatMeet established productivity, quality, and compliance goalsWork collaboratively with internal teams and external providersAdapt to evolving utilization management processes, tools, and workflowsParticipate in required educational or training activitiesRequired QualificationsMD or DO degreeMinimum of 5 years of post-residency/fellowship direct patient care (inpatient or Medicare-type population preferred)Active Board Certification in an ABMS-recognized specialtyUnrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state (willing to obtain additional licenses as needed)Strong communication skills, both written and verbalProven analytical and clinical interpretation abilitiesExperience working in a collaborative team environmentPreferred QualificationsBackground in managed care (Medicare Advantage, Managed Medicaid, Commercial)Prior experience in Utilization ManagementFamiliarity with MCG or InterQual guidelinesClinical experience in IM, FM, Geriatrics, Hospitalist, Emergency Medicine, or related specialtiesTech-forward mindset with adaptability to new tools and workflowsCommitment to innovation and positive team cultureInterview ProcessAll interviews conducted virtually via ZoomSingle interview with the Lead Medical DirectorQuick decision process
